Get to Know: Chetna Singh Scarves
Tell us about your brand and your business model.
The brand is best described as “painted stories on scarves.” They are my original paintings that are digitally printed on silk and cotton scarves.
It’s our goal to provide a great product and the scarves are printed using organic dyes and have hand rolled edges.
We sell directly to consumers via our website, trunk shows, and boutiques.
What drove you to start your own label? And what have you enjoyed the most so far?
I have always had a love for art and fashion and this was an opportunity to fuse the two. I have thoroughly enjoyed the learning curve and if I were to pick one thing in itself, it was the joy of seeing my first scarf in print!
What are one or two big goals you’re focusing on in the next 6 months?
I would like to increase my audience by doing more trunk shows this year. My current goal is to do one per month. The second goal is working on my new collection.

Hokum is a luxury label full of colour and whimsy with a strong narrative to each collection. We have an omni channel approach, selling online, in store, and to wholesale accounts. It sounds like a traditional approach, but in many ways we are not. My work desk is set up at the back of the shop allowing customers to see the work that goes on behind the scenes.
