Get to Know: REMY Creations

Hi Remy!

Tell us about your brand and your business model.

The REMY brand focuses on bright colors, rich textures, and stylish comfort. Many pieces are one size and all are made in limited runs keeping them unique. We believe that life is beautiful and meant to be explored.

The business model is to launch new pieces in limited runs to test them out through our brick and mortar store in Nantucket and pop up in Boston. Then we add successful pieces to our website and promote them through trunk shows and social media.

What drove you to start your own label? And what have you enjoyed the most so far?

I came up with the concept of my shawl which is made with herringbone tweeds and leather. Then I worked on a name and logo design. The shawls were such an immediate success that the brand was launched. I really enjoy seeing customers try on the shawl and fall in love with it. Seeing REMY Items on the street and via social media posts is so rewarding. In my store, my favorite aspect is meeting with people, getting to know them and sharing our story, and hearing their’s too.

What are one or two big goals you’re focusing on in the next 6 months?

My first big goal is to get some REMY pieces into small boutiques in vacation spots.  My second goal is to build an interactive website and become more of an online presence.

Get to Know: Hokum

Hokum is a luxury label full of colour and whimsy with a strong narrative to each collection. We have an omni channel approach, selling online, in store, and to wholesale accounts. It sounds like a traditional approach, but in many ways we are not. My work desk is set up at the back of the shop allowing customers to see the work that goes on behind the scenes.
